Most notable for me are Paperback Writer and Rain. They sound FANTASTIC in mono on the Beatles singles collection but on Mono Masters both sound muddy and unexciting. I guess they can't get em all right, I'd say 99% of the 09 remasters are now 'official go to' versions but Past Masters and Mono masters.some of it is so muddy.

Did mono masters get the same 'no cleanups, no selective EQing' that the mono CD/albums got? Hey Jude is another, muddy and too quiet on MM, but alive and warm on Singles Collection.

PPS now checking out mono beatles for Sale vs Beatles for Sale EPs.again the 90s stuff wins. Some songs are very close to sounding the same, but others are noticeably dull on BFS (09 mono). I guess the EPs had their own master tapes?
