Windows 4.1, how many people know which Windows version that refers to? Bruce made a mistake in his post, that list is taken from the download information for the DirectX 9.0c redistribution, DirectX 10 is only available for Vista or newer operating systems.

I am supposing the download is for a web-installer-stub thingy, one that will in turn download the real /appropriate/ software-download that will be different depending on the OS environment it's running on. I was commenting on the confusion resulting, the very long list, from the use of the trivial-names given to ms' OS's and their versions. Does DirectX not install on Server bundles of WinNT? Ok, then; Supported Operating Systems: Windows - 4.10 and higher WinNT - 5.00 and higher (except 'Server Bundle' releases) Why people might not know what 'Windows 4.10' refers to? Because of intentional obfuscation and the confusion resulting from the use of trivial-names. I'm staying out of this.
